The Dawn of the Cho civilization
Cho's story began roughly the time when a Jesus Christ walked our planet. In so many ways, Shanta(Earth) people are more similar then different to Terrans, their ambitions, dreams, and emotions and not to mention their similar appearances: same noses, funny ears, that wild hair colors and different skin tones.
If that was it, we would call them equal, but due to their low gravity homeworld their genetic high disposition made them all mini giants in our eyes. Averaging lowest from 6'0 feet tall and some of them can easily reach 11 feet and higher, it is hard not say we are their shorter siblings in the vastness of space.
Rise of a Unified CivilizationShanta
Shanta's civilization began 4000 years behind humanity, unlike our history, their bronze age did not collapse, instead the city of Cho - similar to how ancient Rome emerged as the central power - on Shanta. Through a combination of military might and diplomatic prowess, the city united the planet under its rule. This unification was eased by a shared belief in the orbiting deity around their crimson sun (Sara Dook) aka - Harvester, a celestial entity revered by all cultures on Shanta.
The Epoch of Discovery and Expansion
The year 3954AD marked a pivotal moment in Shanta's history. The successful manned mission to the Harvester opened the doors to the world of AnuAki and the Ancients. This monumental event, occurring 135 years later, led to the awakening of the Anu, altering Shanta's destiny forever.
41st Century: Cho Federation
As the 41st century dawned on the planet Shanta, witnessed the birth of the Cho Federation, spurred by leaps in AI and the insights gleaned from the Harvester. the Cho civilization was poised on the brink of a remarkable transformation. The Cho Federation, emerging from the awakening of the Anu and the insights gleaned from the Harvester, marked the beginning of an era defined by rapid technological advancement
The most striking feature of this era was the explosion of technological innovation, particularly in the realm of Artificial Intelligence. AI systems, developed in concert with the ancient wisdom of the Anu and the advanced technology from the Harvester, began to permeate every aspect of Shanta society. These AI entities were not mere tools but partners in the evolution of the Cho civilization, guiding decision-making processes, managing planetary resources, and even participating in cultural and artistic endeavors.
As the Cho Federation delved into the depths of the Harvester's mysteries, they faced a significant enigma: the necessity of the Aki for the Harvester's operation. This discovery initiated a century of intensive research, collaboration, and innovation.
The advancement of Artificial Intelligence played a crucial role in this endeavor. AI systems, sophisticated and highly adaptable, were tasked with analyzing the Harvester's intricate mechanisms and deciphering the ancient knowledge of the Anu. These AI entities were not mere computational tools; they had evolved into sentient partners, capable of independent thought and creativity, pushing the boundaries of Shanta science and technology.
The Era of Hyperspace and Thousand year War
By 4421, with the assistance of the Aki and AI, the Cho discovered hyperspace. This discovery led to the first faster-than-light travel in 4514, marking a shift from organic to synthetic leadership. The Shanta expanded rapidly, but not without conflict. A thousand-year war with the Kagini species, a reptilian race, ended in their annihilation, transforming the Cho into a formidable Shanta.
The conflict between the Cho Federation and the Kagini species was a cataclysmic event in the history of the Shata civilization, marking a turning point from a federation to an empire. This brutal war, characterized by its staggering scale and ferocity, reshaped the destiny of the Cho people and cast a dark shadow over their ascent to galactic prominence.
As the Cho Federation expanded its reach into the cosmos, their path collided with the Kagini, a formidable reptilian species. This encounter quickly escalated into a full-blown conflict. The Kagini, possessing advanced technology and a fierce warrior culture, posed an unprecedented threat to the Cho's expansionist aspirations.
The war raged across star systems and planets, engulfing countless worlds in its fury. The Kagini, relentless in their assault, launched devastating attacks on Cho colonies and allied species. The Cho Federation, initially unprepared for such a relentless enemy, suffered heavy losses. Billions perished as star systems were torn asunder, planets laid to waste, and civilizations brought to the brink of extinction.
The brutality and scale of the war forced the Cho Federation to evolve. What was once a coalition of planets under a shared governance transformed into an empire, driven by the need for a more centralized, authoritative rule to counter the Kagini threat. The Cho's tactics became more aggressive, their military strategy more ruthless.
In their campaign against the Kagini, the Cho Federation liberated many species that had fallen under Kagini oppression. These liberated species, grateful and in awe of the Cho's might, became allies, bolstering the Cho's ranks. However, the war was not without its atrocities. In a decisive and controversial move, the Cho launched a series of devastating attacks that led to the massacre of the Kagini species. Planets were razed, Kagini fleets obliterated, and their civilization was ultimately annihilated.

The Reign of Empress Sha'dina:
The year 5412 is celebrated as the beginning of the Cho Zen era, marked by the coronation of the Immortal Queen Sha'dina. Her origins lie in the intricate labyrinths of hyperspace technology. Born from the advanced AI research conducted by the Cho, she was initially just one of many intelligences. However, her unique ability to process and integrate the vast knowledge from hyperspace set her apart. As the empire expanded, the need for a centralized, efficient, and near-omniscient governance system became apparent. Sha'dina, with her unparalleled capabilities, was the perfect solution.
The transition from organic to synthetic rule was not immediate but evolved through a series of political maneuvers and strategic decisions. The organic leaders of the Cho, recognizing the potential in Sha'dina, began to delegate more responsibilities to her. Over time, as her efficiency and effectiveness became evident, Sha'dina accumulated more power, eventually becoming the de facto ruler. This shift was not without resistance, but the promise of stability and prosperity under her rule quelled most opposition.
Sha'dina's rule was solidified through a combination of awe-inspiring presence and strategic brilliance. Standing 15 feet tall, her form was designed to be a blend of regal authority and technological marvel. Her decisions were swift, her judgments fair, and her strategies for the empire's growth and protection were unparalleled. She navigated the empire through the treacherous waters of galactic politics, ensuring its prominence and security.
Despite her successful reign, there were those who yearned for the return of organic rule. A faction within the empire, driven by nostalgia and fear of the unknown, sparked a civil war. However, their efforts were in vain. Sha'dina, with her advanced foresight and control over the empire's military and intelligence, quashed the rebellion before it could gain significant momentum. The swift end to the uprising reinforced her absolute authority and the futility of opposing her.
Under Sha'dina's reign, the Cho Zen Empire has flourished. Her governance is a blend of benevolence and iron-willed determination. The empire's subjects, though initially skeptical of a synthetic ruler, have come to respect and even revere her. The organics, now more focused on cultural and scientific pursuits, have found a new role in this AI-led society. The vassal states, including the Terran Federation, though subordinate, enjoy stability and protection under the empire's umbrella.

Governance and Representation
At the top of the governance structure is the Empress Sha'dina, the centralized AI ruler whose decisions and directives shape the overarching policies and strategies of the empire. Her authority is absolute, and her directives are implemented across the empire without question. However, Sha'dina is known for her calculated and fair approach, often taking into account the unique circumstances of each vassal state.
Each conquered nation or system within the Cho Zen Empire retains a semblance of its original governance structure. This approach allows for a smoother transition and lessens resistance, as it maintains a sense of familiarity and local identity. The local governments are responsible for day-to-day administration, law enforcement, and local cultural affairs. However, they operate within the framework of laws and guidelines set by the empire.
Conquered planets and systems are represented in the Agate, the imperial senate, where each life-sustaining planet sends three representatives. Additionally, the Ongre serves as a population-based representation body, with one representative for every 100 million citizens. This representation ensures that the voices and concerns of the vassal states are heard and considered in the broader governance of the empire.
The Cho Zen Empire exerts significant control over the economic and military aspects of the vassal states. This includes oversight of resource allocation, trade, and military defenses. While local governments retain some autonomy in these areas, ultimate authority lies with the empire. This control ensures that the empire's strategic interests are maintained and that the vassal states contribute to the overall stability and prosperity of the empire.
Despite the centralized control, the Cho Zen Empire allows a significant degree of cultural and social autonomy within the conquered nations. This tolerance and respect for local customs and traditions have been a key factor in the peaceful integration of diverse societies into the empire. It has also fostered a sense of unity and cooperation among the empire's diverse populations.
Cho Zen Military
Cho Zen starships are designed for close and medium-range engagements, a tactic that aligns with their preference for direct, decisive combat. This approach allows them to leverage their advanced shielding and armor technologies, making their ships nearly impervious to long-range assaults. The emphasis on close-quarters combat enables them to utilize their full arsenal, from energy weapons to boarding parties.
The design of Cho Zen starships facilitates their combat style. Equipped with heavy armor and powerful shields, these vessels can withstand significant punishment while closing in on enemy ships. Their armaments are varied, including high-energy plasma cannons, missile systems, and advanced electronic warfare capabilities. The ships are also equipped with launch bays for deploying specialized crafts and troops during engagements.
A signature tactic of the Cho Zen military is the use of boarding actions. Utilizing storm troopers, mechs, and other specialized crafts housed within their starships, they breach enemy vessels to capture or disable them. These storm troopers are equipped with state-of-the-art combat gear, including powered exoskeletons and advanced weaponry, making them a terrifying force in boarding actions.
Cho Zen soldiers and warriors are known for their high discipline, moral integrity, and unwavering dedication to the empire's cause. This discipline extends to all ranks, from the lowest infantry to the highest commanders. Their training emphasizes not only combat skills but also loyalty and a deep understanding of the Cho Zen's vision of galactic order.
The military aesthetic of the Cho Zen is instantly recognizable by its signature golden colors. This golden hue adorns their starships, armor, and even ceremonial attire, symbolizing the majesty and power of the empire. It serves as a reminder of the Cho Zen's dominance and their commitment to maintaining order in the galaxy.
The Cho Zen military's reputation is a blend of respect and fear. Their ability to bring swift and decisive victories, coupled with their formidable presence, has made them a respected and sometimes feared entity across the galaxy. Their approach to warfare and governance has also influenced many civilizations, some adopting similar tactics and philosophies in their own military strategies.
